Rearrangeable blocks on the home screen
Citilink can tailor the home screen to the holiday season or sales by rearranging the blocks; experiment and test marketing hypotheses.
Citilink is an omnichannel supermarket and one of the largest online stores in Europe. The company sells appliances, electronics, tools, office furniture, and other products and earns more than $3 billion a year.
In addition to retail, Citilink provides various services: assembling and setting up equipment, configuring digital technology, selecting supplies.
Citilink has 1000 stores and pickup points in 500 European cities.
Citilink approached us with a challenge: to release a mobile app in 2021 and to launch a new sales channel.
The company wanted their customers to be able to find and buy products, write and read reviews, track orders, and receive notifications on their smartphones.
The app had to align with the Citilink's rebranded style and maintain the brand’s recognition and uniqueness for all customers.

We separated different product blocks.
The user keeps being focused and easily finds the right category in the long list: home appliances, electronics, office furniture, power tools, household essentials, and various services.
The user can see a full screen preview of the product card if they tap on the product on the home screen or in the catalog
A long click opens a bottom sheet with the most important information.
Bottom sheet allows the user to:
Product cards pile up and create intuitive mechanics for working with the suggested products.
The user searches for a product by swiping through them. Left swipe shows a new item, right swipe — the previously seen one.
The product of the day takes up the entire screen width. The countdown shows the time until the offer expires. When the time is up, a new item appears on this block.
The app predicts what the customer wants to see.
The app instantly shows the content that a regular user goes to the app for:
To the new user the app shows a wide range of products: popular categories, promotions, and product selections.
The user can browse the product's photo gallery without going to the product card, but directly from the list.
The user can choose the product display method: tiles or a list.
Tile focuses on the product's photos and ratings.
The list displays the main characteristics for each product category next to the image.
The user adds the product to favorites or to cart.
The first block combines frequently viewed information: product photos and videos, terms of purchase, rich content, delivery options, main product features, and configurations.
Tabs help organize space and keep the user's attention. They have instructions, certificates and detailed technical description on additional screens.
The second block helps make a purchase decision.
This block combines product research and social reinforcement tools.
The user sees customer reviews and experiences, recommendations, product selections, they can ask questions or go to the support chat.
The main actions, like share or add to cart, are fixed on the product card, as well as the bottom navigation bar. The user can add the item to the cart or to favorites, ask for an expert consultation, or go to any app section with just one tap.
The user can go to the support chat to ask the Citilink experts or the manufacturer a question. The experts will help decide on the choice, tell more about the product and its characteristics, or select similar products.
Citilink provides additional services to its customers. We offer to add them in the cart.
The user can add purchase protection, order equipment installation and setup, buy a digital subscription or a license key for the program.
The widget shows the order status and details in the profile section and on the home screen.
The user can track several active orders at once by swiping through them.
The user can save multiple addresses and details for several recipients.
A separate membership program widget shows the number of bonus points, card number, discount amount, and other benefits.
The app passed the pre-launch beta testing and appeared on the App Store and Google Play in December 2021.
The team continues working on the product and gathering feedback. The new sales channel promises to become one of the main sales channels for Citilink.
